Funding from ASRC Sensor CAT

The CUNY-ASRC Sensor Center for Advanced Technology (CAT) is one of 15 Centers for Advanced Technology (CATs) designated by Empire State Development’s Division of Science, Technology, and Innovation (NYSTAR). Sensor CAT provides matching funds for collaborative research partnerships between New York State companies and the City University of New York (CUNY). The program supports early-stage technology development on the pathway from the lab to the marketplace. Details can be found in their recent newsletter at

Earth Week Event at ASRC

The 2023 Earth Week event at the Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) will feature three symposiums.

 

Tuesday April 18th: CUNY’s NanoBioNYC Launch

We are excited to formally launch CUNY Graduate Center’s new NanoBioNYC, a Ph.D. traineeship program funded by the National Science Foundation and housed within the ASRC. All CUNY STEM graduate students and faculty interested in Bio-inspired Nanoscience are invited to attend and hear talks from current NanoBioNYC mentors and fellows, and learn how to participate in future programmings such as industry internship opportunities, technical training certificates, science outreach, and more.

Call for student abstracts: an opportunity for undergraduate, graduate students, and postdocs to give a 10-min in-person talk or to present a visual presentation for a chance to win a prize!

Wednesday April 19th: 2nd Annual Sensor CAT Symposium

The 2nd annual symposium will feature CUNY entrepreneurs and start-up founders in conversation with industry leaders to discuss the present and future of hard technology development and applications to advance human and planetary health. This event is for students, researchers, and faculty who are interested in applied research and entrepreneurship, as well as for industry partners who want to explore the expansive resources available and the innovation ecosystem network here at CUNY and in New York City.
